Mastercard And Backbase Target Production-Ready AI

New Tools Support Personalisation And Risk Analysis

Mastercard’s Dynamic Yield will support personalisation and customer engagement across digital banking channels. Test & Learn will help banks assess changes to products, pricing and campaigns. The partnership also provides access to SpendingPulse for macroeconomic and sector-level spending data, and Cyber Quant for assessing cyber risk and resilience.

Collaboration Addresses The Rise Of Agentic Banking

The companies position the collaboration against the wider move towards agentic AI, in which automated systems can act on behalf of customers within defined parameters. Mastercard has cited an Agent Pay transaction conducted in the UAE in late 2025 as an example of this development. Mastercard has also launched Mastercard Agent Suite to help enterprises develop secure AI-powered experiences across payments.

Companies Outline Scale And Strategic Rationale

Mastercard operates in more than 200 countries and territories, while Backbase was founded in 2003 by Jouk Pleiter and serves more than 120 banks. Backbase VP Collaborations and Alliances Ricardo Ribelles said the collaboration combines two ecosystems to give banks a faster, more trusted path from AI experimentation to business outcomes. Mastercard executive vice president, services, EEMEA Selin Bahadirli said the infrastructure supporting the shift from AI experimentation to execution is important for moving agentic banking from proof of concept to production.
